Hoima sugar ordered to restore degraded Kikuube land

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has ordered Hoima Sugar LTD to restore degraded parts of the Kikuube mixed land use project and has cancelled approval for urban center development in the ecosystem. This comes after several reports from the public and Bunyoro Kingdom about the continued degradation of Bugoma Forest to plant sugarcane.
