Capacity Building on International Financial Institutions Remedy Mechanisms
Following issues raised in the community dialogues in Tooro Rwenzori region, the UCCA with its member International Accountability Project (IAP) conducted a training of Community Based Organisations on the remedy mechanisms of International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The training helped Community Based organisations connect development in relation to upholding of human rights. It also acted as a platform to create an understanding about following the money of different projects. The training also elaborated on the importance of engaging IFIs as sources of funds meant to facilitate activities that cause human rights violations. CSOs and CBOs were trained on the different ways to take action such as sensitizing communities on this remedy approach and providing support in complaint filing.
