Follow Up Engagement with Project Affected Persons (PAPs) of the Proposed Central Processing Facility in Buliisa District
On Wednesday August 14, 2019 a team from the UCCA Secretariat and Members including CESCRA, IAP, WVU, NAVODA, BIRUDO and ISER, conducted a follow up engagement upon the request by the Project Affected Persons(PAPs) from the Resettlement Action Plan I for the proposed Central Processing Facility (CPF) situated in Buliisa District. The main objectives of the field visit were twofold; A follow up discussion with the holdout PAPs regarding their interests and offer them guidance following their visit to the different resettlement sites. Secondly, to harmonize and consolidate membership reports and documents concerning the various meetings held with the implementing partners.
All hold out PAPs were either present or represented at the meeting. After critical engagements three PAPs were open to the land for land compensation option, while others considered the option of going to court for redress.
