Roundtable workshop on the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

The Consortium in partnership with the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre is hosting a Roundtable workshop with Civil Society and Trade Unions in Uganda on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. This new piece of legislation will require EU companies to undertake due diligence along their supply chain, including where they have business relationships across the African continent. Workers are both key to business success as well as a key rights holder group at risk of being impacted by human rights abuse across supply chains. The workshop will provide the opportunity for civil society and workers’ organisations to explore the case for a more robust directive, and provide the opportunity to develop advocacy plans to influence European Union (EU) decision-makers
